As we work toward our energy saving goals, we continue to evolve and move towards more effective ways to conserve energy campus wide. With the Events2HVAC program we are now able to take that next step. Starting the Fall Semester 2018 all general purpose classrooms will be controlled by the Events2HVAC program. As a campus, we are able to now occupy and un-occupy GPC rooms based on their actual scheduled time versus the typical block scheduling already in place. Typical scheduling and control methods will remain in place in case there is a need for change.
Goals
- Capture summertime energy savings
We do our best to reduce energy usage where possible however this program will allow us to go to take the next step, reach out to the room level versus changing schedules in the native system one by one as schedules change
- Year-round energy savings
We will pull schedules year round and be able to occupy and unoccupy spaces per their actual scheduled time
As the above goals state, we want to effectively and efficiently capture the energy savings where we are able, and make sure we are looking at all spaces we are trying to control to identify any issues or concerns.
What To Look For
Rooms that are being controlled by the Events2HVAC program have been identified by the addition of a new icon on the Geo tree within ALC. When a technician sees a calendar day symbol (as shown on the left) that will indicate that the room is being controlled by the Events2HVAC software.
